“Al Dente”

This is Fruitycake. Here in this Italy place, the persons are always talking about pasta being al dente. That means it’s cooked just right. Not too hard. Not too soft. It holds its shape. It doesn’t fall apart just because it’s been in hot water.

I think persons could learn something from pasta.

Sometimes we stay too soft because we don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings. We let rude words slide. We accept disrespect. We keep explaining ourselves to people who have already decided not to understand us. We think that if we’re just a little nicer, they’ll be nicer too.

But being kind doesn’t mean being treated poorly.

Today, I’m choosing to be al dente. I’ll still be loving. I’ll still be compassionate. But I won’t allow rude comments, unkind opinions, or disrespectful treatment to change who I am or make me question my worth. I don’t have to accept what someone else serves me just because they put it on my plate.

Now, let’s say today’s affirmation out loud together.

Today’s Affirmation

I am al dente.

I am strong without becoming hard. I am kind without becoming a doormat. I will no longer accept rude words, disrespect, or treatment that tells me I am less than I know I am. I choose peace over proving myself. I choose healthy boundaries over people-pleasing. My worth is not decided by someone else’s opinion. Today, I will stand tall, protect my heart, and remember that I was never meant to fall apart just to make someone else comfortable.

I love you dear family. Don’t accept anything less than what you’re worth. And that’s everything!!
