Be Like Brickle

This is Fruitycake. Today, the persons are remembering Brickle on the two-year anniversary of his passing. They said his years were from 2009–2024. But what they truly don’t comprehend is that he was always here. And he always will be here.

I know, it sounds complicated, but it actually is the opposite. It’s as simple as can be. And when we realize that our loved ones, our treasured ones, will never truly leave us, and that they’ve always been with us, we can use their lives, their experiences, as wisdom to help us in this life we have right now. And today, I choose to Be Like Brickle. It’s time for today’s affirmation. Ready to say it out loud with me?

Today, I will be like Brickle. I won’t apologize for being myself. I will be confident and honest. I won’t try to make everyone like me, because those who love me will understand me. Today, I will be like Brickle and stand up for what I believe in. I will treat myself to peanut butter and matzo crackers if that’s what I like, even if no one else wants a bite. I am me. There is no one else like me. I love how different I am, and I embrace the beauty in being me. I will be like Brickle.

Today is a hard day because it’s a reminder we don’t have Brickle here with us to take a walk or have a treat of ice cream. It’s the little parts of missing someone that hurt the most.

But I will enjoy some of the things Brickle loved today, and I hope you will too. Be like Brickle. Be like YOU. We all have an opportunity, way beyond this lifetime, to make a difference. He’s the prime example of that.

P.S. Today is one of the hardest days of the year for the persons. They are honoring Brickle’s legacy while continuing to care for me and keep 2 Traveling Dogs going during an incredibly difficult season. Donations have been very low, and today they truly need your help.
