The Doctor Will See You Now. And He’s Seen You Before.

This is Fruitycake. I am really a good boy. A patient boy. A boy who misses his Girl Person. And a boy who will be praying today for his Girl Person when she goes to the doctor again.

A dog that can pray? All dogs can pray! We actually are the best at it! We don’t ask for much. We appreciate all that we have, and above everything else, we want our persons to be happy.

Happiness has been hard to come by for my persons lately because of all the worries. We can’t stay at the rustico now forever. Girl Person is too weak, Boy Person is too tired, and they can’t take care of me the best way possible when they aren’t feeling their best. So… I want them to feel their best! Whatever that takes. And if that means changes, I am all for that!

Today, the doctor will tell Girl Person if she can fly home this week. We’ve had a lot of disappointments. So many plane trips have been rescheduled. Today is so important, and we’re nervous about what he will say.

Will he let her come back? Is she well enough? And most importantly, can she be comfortable enough until we can make the big changes? Will she be safe?

Me and Boy Person have more trees to cut to clear the path, and we need to get her some supplies too, like her sparkling water and some of her other favorite things.

Oh, I hope this all happens this week.

Can you pray today too?

Sometimes we may not know what we are praying for, exactly. Because no decision or outcome seems easy. But somehow when us dogs pray, we just know what is the best outcome will happen…if we are sincere. And we sure are. Whatever is the best way to help animals and ourselves and to be safe and healthy is what we pray for. So we will trust what the doctor says is the start of an answer to get this show on the road.

I’m not sure what or who you believe in. That’s ok. Because we all find comfort, purpose and love in the ways we know how. Dogs don’t have a religion. We don’t have a country. We don’t have a government. We have you. And so that’s who we pray for.

We love you. And we believe in you. We may not have all the answers. But we have the prayers. And just like the doctor will see you over and over as long as you need him, even more so will your higher power…and yes, your dog too.
