Lights Shine Best In The Dark

Starting THIS THURSDAY the blog will only be found on our Patreon page at www.patreon.com/2travelingdogsrescue

This is Fruitycake. We need lots of lights around here. As you can imagine, up here on the mountain in this Italy place, it is very dark. Not just at night.

In winter time especially, it’s dark even during the day. We have to make an effort to keep our spirits up. Because for us, we need sunshiney to feel our best. Maybe others like winter, but it is hard for us.

At night, Girl Person and I go to the sea for our evening walk. We know it’s going to be dark when we come back up. Qs take a head lamp and a flashlight. Yes, I know. It’s super fashionable, but we haven’t had a fashion designer call us yet.

With all of these lights on the outside, which is very important to keep us safe, there is something even more important. Lights on the inside. If lights can shine in the dark, I want my persons to know that their lights inside can come thru too in times right now that seem dark.

We all go thru struggles. Even dogs. Yes, especially rescue dogs. Times of struggle can sure seem to last more than one season. And it seems like the sun with never come back. But you have to keep charging up those lights. You have to keep them on. Never go a day or night without them.

Charging your lights may be different for everyone. Some may need to rest. Some may need to draw or write. Some may need to build something. Some may need to ask for help. That’s ok. Lights can be lit by others for a little while.

So let’s all help each other keep our lights on. Don’t get overwhelmed by a new year. It’s a great time to get new lights if you have to. The world may seem right now like it has an abundance of troubles. That’s to keep us distracted from the good of nature, wildlife, animals and kind people. It also distracts us from our value and what we are capable of. To be a shining light.

So use this new year as a great chance to take inventory of your lights. Lights shine best in the dark. Maybe part of your purpose, like mine, is to shine bright for others.
