Leftover Beans Are Still Beans
This is Fruitycake. I hope that you had a good day yesterday. It sure is nice to have special days in life when you’re a person. I like that for you.
The day after special days can be hard though. Not as hard as day old bread. But they can be hard like knowing you have leftover beans to eat.

Around here, we use everything and we use everything sometimes twice. Girl Person likes to buy dried beans because they are less expensive, are easier to carry up the mountain, and she thinks they taste better. But the problem? She doesn’t particularly care for beans.

Boy Person loves the beans. Beans of all types. He likes them in chili and soup. He likes them stews and rice. And he loves them in tacos. So Girl Person made him tacos last night. I saw her put less beans in hers.

After making the beans on top of the fire, Boy Person thought that they were delicious! And she was very glad. Bur not glad she had some left over today to make. Because leftover beans are still beans. They are definitely not pizza. Pizza beans? Not a thing.

It can be hard for some persons when life seems to be the same day after day. A special day like yesterday can help. But then the next day, you’re back to beans. But don’t despair. Fruitycake is here!

You see, leftover beans are still beans. Life does go back to normal. But it’s a lesson. A lesson, not a sentence in life. If you don’t like your normal days, it’s because you just don’t like a part of your life. That’s ok, just like Girl Person not liking beans is ok. Not everyone needs or likes the same thing. And here’s a secret.

You change in life. What you needed or liked when you were a younger person can change when you’re older. Recipes can vary with age. So now is a good time to find a new one. Even if you’ve made the same old beans your whole life, you can find a new cookbook. You can do the hard things. But I don’t recommend day old bread.

Leftover beans are still beans. And you’re still the same you, but improved with age. And no bean, no bean I tell you, can say that.

Message: This is Fruitycake. We know this time if year is hard for so many. And it’s been a hard year for us here. Mostly because instead of kindness and support, the world has a loud voice of discouraging words. Even for those trying to do the hard work for animals. Not all understand what my persons and I are trying to do to make a difference. But the ones…like you…help us more than you can ever know. When we go to sleep at night we try to remember the encouraging words only. And your words and your contribution helped us. If money were no object, we would be done by now. But we have so much work to do.
Thank you for helping us fill our pantry and tummies today! Today is bean day! Or pizza! Any amount helps for necessities and winter clothing at www.tinyurl.com/2tdnecessities
