What If It Was Always There?

From the persons: Now, more than ever, we ask that you read this important message. Our readers have been vital to the continuation of this blog to give rescue animals a voice. Only a few, loyal supporters make this blog and education center for wildlife and animal rescue a reality. If we are an asset to your day, we ask for your support here at www.tinyurl.com/2tdnecessities today and on Patreon for $5 a month at www.patreon.com/2travelingdogsrescue. That is literally 16 cents per day. We hope to keep this project going in 2026, but that depends on your support. Thank you so much!

This is Fruitycake. When the rain comes here, the rain really comes. With a plan of action! And it seems like it’s coming over for dinner. Or breakfast. Or whenever it wants. How rude!

Here in this Italy place, we actually have never seen rain like this. Who knew? I thought pizza was the only thing that rained down in Italy. I guess you never know about a place until you live there.

But even though the rain is very troublesome here, there is a good part. On our path, when there is a lot of rain, it makes a beautiful stream across the footpath. And I tell you, its the prettiest thing you ever did see besides me. I love that little stream. I love it. I could look at it all day. And when I’m thirsty, wow. It’s so good to drink.

But just like most wonderful things in life, it doesn’t last long. By the next dag, it is always gone. And I do get a bit sad. I miss it. But what if it was always there? Would I appreciate it?

I think that I would still believe it was pretty. But I wouldn’t notice how pretty. I think I would see its rocks and the water that perfectly flows over it. But I wouldn’t see how many rocks. I wouldn’t even notice if one was gone. I do now. Because it isn’t there all of the time.

The truth is, and I always tell the truth, none of us will always be here. Just like the stream, it could be today or tomorrow.

So notice what is around you today. And see the things about them maybe you wouldn’t have noticed before.
