This is Fruitycake. I’ve never been one to stick up my nose at any type of pasta. Spaghetti, lasagna, fettuccine, all good.

But apparently, Boy Person thinks he is some kind of pasta connoisseur. I don’t really know how to even say that word. But just call him the pasta snob.

Because after a really hard day of Girl Person falling twice, her almost broken knee and banged up arm, she realized that her dinner plan had included homemade pasta. It’s much cheaper to buy a bag of flour and make your own. But it takes time and effort, and hers was about done. But she tried anyway.

After making the pasta, she cut it a little thicker than usual. She didn’t cook it as long. And well, let’s just be nice and call it the stuff of nightmares.

When she was little she used to watch a scary movie called The Blob.

But the glob was much scarier and if it wasn’t so cold outside we would have all ran for our lives. But alas, we were hungry and no one was about to walk miles to get anything else.

When you’re hungry, you’re hungry. And Boy Person, also known as the Glob Snob asked what kind of pasta it was. Girl Person said it was supposed to be parpadelle.

Boy Person said, you mean glob pasta? And they both started laughing so hard I think the monster, the glob, was actually frightened of them.

Sometimes things go wrong. A lot of things go wrong. You can either cry about it or make a joke. The trick about jokes based on true stories is to see the lesson too. In this case, perhaps cereal would have been a better idea since she was so tired.

Sometimes you can’t do all you want to do. So give yourself a break.
