Even Miracles Take Time

If you enjoy this blog every weekday, we thank you for being here. You’ve been a part of our family each day since 2011! That’s saving a lot of animals together! That’s giving a voice to so many rescues together! We can’t do it without you. And to keep it going, the blog depends on support here

This is Fruitycake. Some things take a lot of time. Like baking a pizza.

I look forward to the day when we finally have an oven to make our own at home! Right now, we have to walk and bike and walk some more and wait some more for pizza. Oh, the tragedy!

Other things take time too. Like our vegetables growing. The squash and melons and tomato vines are fading away. But they have had a wonderful life.

They were the first things we planted here. And even though there is so much to do, so much disarray and uncertainty, we were positive the vegetables would grow.

Because the land is productive and prosperous, even after being abandoned and neglected for so long. Anything can grow again. Anything can thrive again. Anything can live again. But even miracles take time.

So to start over can feel like, well, not the smart thing to do. But sometimes, starting over is the only way that you can live again. Just like the vines fading away here, it’s time to pull them up and replant more seeds.

So that there can be life again. It won’t happen overnight. No. It will take watering and watching. It will also take hope and patience.

And love. Lots of love. Like everything here at our little house in this Italy place.

We may not have had the full picture when we got here. We may not have the full picture now. But we know we aren’t happy and we aren’t living unless we are helping others and making a difference.

And even though this is taking time and effort and lots and lots of strength we think we don’t have some days, it will come together for a bigger purpose than us. It will be its own purpose. I think this land had its purpose from the beginning of time. It’s working with us, not against us. It’s teaching us, not preaching at us. It’s loving us, because even miracles take time.

And it’s here for time indefinite. Even if we aren’t. And that is love. Working for something you pass on. That is more than what you want. And we want this for who need it. Now, let’s get to planting more seeds. We have a lot to grow.
