This is Fruitycake. Many people may not believe this. But I think that my home is the most beautiful home in the world.
The things that need to be fixed are just that. Things.
A home to me is a wonderful dream come true.
Yes, we had a home called an RV that moved all the time. And we had lots of fun.
But at the end of the day, where we parked it was not ours. And it was ok for the persons for a little while. For years. But eventually, they wanted to take care of a little piece of the earth and they didn’t have to leave.
And that’s why Brickle worked so hard to get them there and to get me there too.
So when I met some toads at my home the other day, I didn’t bother them or scare them away. I know some toads dogs can’t mess with. And that’s ok too.
But these toads were just being toads. And I was sure that they had a job to do.
I’ve been taught that all things on the earth and in the sky have a part in making the earth work right. It’s only the persons that mess up that order. The toads? They have a purpose and they don’t neglect it.
But I looked around, and with all of the work we are doing here to make it easier for us, the truth is, we may be making it harder on others like the bats. Which is why we built them a house. And you helped us to do that!!
And I think that this month, I would like our wildlife project to be toad houses. Houses for toads. And that way, they know they have a safe place to go while we do our work and we can make the little houses pretty too. And I’ll do the decorating. And your names will be in pretty calligraphy by Girl Person!
Fruitycake And The Toads.
A rescue dog that found a home and wants to make sure that the ones he shared his home with have a safe place to live and stay.
I know that some may wonder why a dog would care about toads. And I wonder why a dog wouldn’t care about toads. Shouldn’t we all care how the earth works and what each other needs so that the earth stays here and we can stay here at our earth home? I even wrote them a letter.
Dear Toads At Brickle’s House,
It’s nice to meet you. I know that we just moved in a little while ago and you may have been here for longer. Your families may have grown up here and maybe you remember the stories of times long ago. Thanks for letting us share our land and home with you. Since we only have one bed and one little couch, I’ll have to ask you stay at your little homes I will make you. I promise that you will like them because I will decorate them myself. My name is Fruitycake but you can call me Fruity or Torta Di Frutta since you are Italian. I appreciate all you do and we would like you to continue to work here. I can offer you room and board. And so hopefully, that’s a good trade. I thank you in advance for your timeliness on the job and I hope your accommodations will be acceptable. I’ll start working on them now. Grazie mille!
