This is Fruitycake. If I could save time in a bottle, I would fill that bottle and leave it for a rainy day.

That way, when I was missing someone or had to say goodbye to someone, I could use some. If you could save time in a bottle, what would you use it for?
It’s rainy here today in this Italy place and windy too. We got in a hike early, but we also had a lot to do. Like move clothes inside that were drying.

Girl Person said she would have used her time in that bottle to bring some sunshiney to dry her clothes.
I’m not sure why, but rain not only cleanses the earth, but it helps to cleanse ourselves too.

Sometimes we push back feelings and emotions. And even though we push them back, they are still behind us. Until we stop and they catch up.

They always catch up. That’s what happened to Girl Person yesterday. It was the first day of a new year. And she was sad about not having Brickle and Digby too this year.
But when she looked at me trying to cheer her up, she knew it was time to acknowledge the grief.
And tell it that it would not stop her from living and loving now. It may have caught up with her. But she will win the race. And you can too.
We can’t stop time. We can’t stop the fact that we go thru hard times. We can’t stop the fact that life is worth living. Worth fighting for. Worth working thru grief and pain and rain.
Because what is on the other side is simply amazing. Don’t stop.

Thanks for the encouragement to put one foot in front of the other and get back to living.
