I Feel The Earth Move Under My Feet

This is Fruitycake. It was a normal night last night, except that it wasn’t. Persons around the world were excited about a new year coming.

And so, at midnight they set off a loud bunch of fireworks here in this Italy place. It wasn’t like the United States place where they make noise for days and hours ahead of midnight.

Here, it was loud at midnight for 30 seconds and it was done. Girl Person never even woke up. Me and Boy Person were concerned that she was sleeping so soundly. Like nothing could wake her up, she was so tired. Except that something did. Rudely awoken. That’s what happened.

You see, we were asleep. And quite comfortable, I must say. Warm and as snug as bugs in a rug.

But we were in our bed. We love our bed. We appreciate our bed. But our bed reminded us that everything in life make mistakes.

Because when we were sleeping, all of a sudden, me and Girl Persons’ side fell down. We felt the earth move under our feet.

And it wasn’t an earthquake. It wasn’t fireworks. It was the slats of the bed coming off with us on it.

I jumped off that bed like it was lava. And I was out of there. Leaving Girl Person on the floor. And Boy Person telling her that maybe she should walk up and down the path a few more times.

We laughed so hard at the bed on the floor and the ridiculousness of it all this last year.

But you know what? Ridiculousness is what makes life great.

What will this year bring? We don’t know. But we know we have a lot to do. A lot to work thru. But first things first. Bed? Maybe you heard us talking about wanting a couch.

That doesn’t mean we don’t want you. Making room for good things this year means appreciating what and who we have in our lives. We can’t forget to do that.

2025? We are here. Tired. But ready to go!

So sorry your bed fell apart during the night. I guess BP will need to put it back together. Well, it’s one way to remember your first New Year’s Eve. Hopefully, the new year will be a good one for you all and the whole world.
