It’s Turned Into That

This is Fruitycake. There is one, very important thing that I have learned so far in my life. That if you try to help others, and try to help others from a place that comes out of love, and nothing else, you are rare.

And if you are rare, it’s even more important that you keep doing things for others out of love. You have to.

Persons may say that they want to help others. But wanting to do something motivates you.

You have to have that place and space in your heart and then in your head that motivates you to take action. It could be taking a meal to someone.

Or having a meal delivered. It could mean sending a thank you card or an email.

It could mean picking up your phone and talking or texting a loving thought.

It could mean many things. But if you love a person, your heart will know what they need.

My family has always tried to help animals with the blog and videos and all kinds of things.

But they ended up needing help themselves. Help to get thru grief.

Help to get settled in another country.

Many times, they have needed help over the years and they have tried to give it to people too.

It’s turned into a big family that we have here, hasn’t it?

What I’m saying is that helping others sometimes helps you.

Helping Girl Person go hiking every day by saying I need it too has helped both of us.

Helping her get out of bed and know that she is loved has helped.

And even this time of year, with Live Like Digby Day and the grief it uncovers means we try to help others. So Digby is helping now too. Isn’t that beautiful?

What helping someone turns into isn’t always predicted. But kindness can never be wrong. Don’t question whether you should do something for someone, whether a person or an animal. Question what you will do.

Fruitycake

It is our goal to devote the month of December, not just December 1st, to Digby. Our goals are as follows.

  1. Visit a shelter in Italy and show how rescue dogs matter everywhere. We would also like to treat the dogs to an American favorite! Pancakes!
  2. We would love to send pancake treats to the shelter Digby originally was saved at in Jacksonville, Florida. Although that shelter has closed, another in the same building helps the community there now!! And has changed for the better. Digby was transferred from there to the Humane Society Of Tampa Bay in order not to be euthanized. We would also like to send food and treats to them.
  3. We would like YOU to make your dogs pancakes on December 1st!

This isn’t just for Digby. It’s for the whole 2 Traveling Dogs family. To help us all remember we can make a difference together. And to remember every life matters. Even Digby who is not with us physically can continue to make a difference with your help.

Supplies needed are below with a link to contribute. Thank you.
