This is Fruitycake. I am not what you may call a “shop till you drop” kinda fellow. Oh, but Brickle was.
He loved shopping so much. And he loved stores. He loved going anywhere that persons could. Because he believed he was just as important as a person. And well. He was right.
But I find shopping to be boring. I would rather hike.
I would rather go out to eat. Spaghetti, focaccia or pizza. Por favore. Grazie. Prego. Bark.
Unless I get to pick something out while I am shopping. And Girl Person said I definitely could. And the something I picked yesterday was first a cornetto.
Do not say croissant in Italy.
Say cornetto.
And then I picked a rug. Yes. I love rugs almost as much as I love sticks. Except they don’t talk back as much.
A rug? Yes. Did you know that rugs are one of my most favorite things of all? They are.
They mean home.
They mean comfort. They mean relaxing. They mean everything to me.
You may not know that dogs care about such things. As rugs.
But we have favorite things.
Just like you do.

We just can’t get it thru to you sometimes unless you ask us. Have you asked your dog or your person what they like? What they need? Ask and truly pay attention. And you will know.
I know it’s not easy to care for someone so much. And some persons don’t want to know how much they can love. Because it hurts when that someone is gone. But we all deserve to enjoy a rug.
A piece of pizza. And we all deserve to be asked.
