This is Fruitycake. I’m still learning how to do this dog blog. I don’t have 15 years of practice like Brickle did. I have no idea how he and Digby wrote to you every weekday for that long! But I am determined to not break this tradition. And I won’t let you down. Because if you are still reading this, you must love us. And love isn’t something to throw away. No matter how hard it can seem to practice sometimes.
But, I will make mistakes on this blog. Girl Person isn’t the best proofreader. She is all over the place every day.
Kissing me, walking with me, working on this house, planning, writing books, working on article and orders and shipments.
And she tries her best. But she also realizes that she can do better. Best is a word that is thrown around like a ball. You can use it. But you have to make sure you know where to aim. And if it doesn’t land where it is supposed to, you pick it up and throw it again until you get it right. Until you actually do DO your best.
There is a lot to do in this house. And it is literally crumbling around us. So we pick a project to work on every day.
But you do have to laugh. Because the persons are worried about the paint and me getting dirtier than I should, they put up temporary walls out of cardboard so I don’t touch the wall. And Girl Person thought it would be funny to write “Fruity Wuz Here.” Even I know that isn’t spelled right in any language. But even when things are crumbling around you, you have to find the humor. Or the sadness will find you.
Life is a journey and my brothers Brickle and Digby always checked in. Good day or bad day. Great day or sad day. Life isn’t one thing. We choose to tell you the reality. But we also find the humor in it. And it’s funny, really, this mess we are in. But hey..mess is sometimes doing your best. And that’s ok too.
