This is Fruitycake. Girl Person told me that when she was younger, she used to watch a lot of shows on that tv thing persons like. We don’t have one now. Ok. Maybe we do. There are a couple in the trash piles here at our house in Italy from long ago.
But she said one of her favorite shows was about these people who found themselves stranded on an island. And just like us, they were always trying to find ways to do things without electricity. They were always trying to find water.
Sometimes you really have to see the humor in life. I think you have to see it all of the time. But sometimes it’s harder to laugh. This weekend, we went shopping for supplies to make getting water a bit easier for Boy Person.
We have to change all of the pipes in the house. And that’s going to take a long time. So until then, we need a way to get more water easier. And to heat our water. Because it’s going to be getting cold soon. And the solar shower bag won’t heat up water.
So we went to a store and did some shopping. Some stuff we aren’t able to pick up until Thursday. But we have some stuff and can start.
You have to start somewhere. You have to start climbing the path. Or in our case, carrying stuff up the path while you are climbing it.
Water is something you can take for granted, isn’t it? It magically comes in your house. But it’s not magic. It’s work. It’s effort. Don’t take the little things for granted. Don’t take the little ones in your life for granted. Because one day, if they aren’t there, you’ll realize that life is harder.
Relationships, like water, aren’t magic. They are work to make the magic.
