This is Fruitycake. The persons have been working hard in this Italy place to learn the Italian language. They have been going to school three times a week on top of trying to fix Brickle’s house, take care of me, and try not to let their sadness overtake them everyday. It’s been a lot.
They have an exam to take September 18th. I know the date, because they keep talking about it. In any language, it means a lot of studying.

Even though our lives are a lot of work right now, just for the bare necessities, the persons think that if Brickle had not got us to his house, they would be having a much harder time getting thru each day. I see that too.

He knew that they would need to keep busy in order to carry on. He knew them better than they knew themselves, actually.
Sometimes, the drive in us is strong to get something accomplished. Sometimes, we have to search to find it. I know my drive to get focaccia and pizza is pretty strong. But even that yesterday didn’t sound good to me. So the persons decided to take me on a drive like old times. Except this time, the back seat felt a lot bigger without Brickle.

We took a drive to a region in Italy where they make wine.
We just wanted to roll down the windows and see new scenery.

It made us remember a little bit more about who we are. What we need.

And even though staying busy is good, going thru the motions can be not good. Sometimes you have to take a drive to be your best.
And we enjoyed that drive. Although we talked about Brickle most of the way, and what he would have liked and not liked.

Many bad things will happen in our lives. I will not dwell though on that. That’s not my job. My job is to remind you that every single day, there is a reason and a joy to be had.

And if you can’t find that, you may need to take a drive. A break. You may need a reminder that life is about rolling down the windows.
