Big Paws

This is Fruitycake. Someone once told me that I’m the amazing man. Yes. I am that.

Someone also once told me that I’m a gremlin. I love to talk like one.

Someone also once told me that I had a lot to learn. But that I would be the one to carry on for him. That person was Brickle. He gave his all. And he told me that I needed to give my all too.

We remember the things that people tell us about ourselves when those things are important. I try to forget when people have said I’m just a dog. Or that I don’t have feelings. Or negative stuff like that. Negative things are never important. Never. When I remember the negative, I remember what Brickle told me instead. And since I loved him so very much, and I still do, I hold more importance to that.

I know that I have some big paws. But I have even bigger paws to fill with this blog. It’s not just carrying on the tradition for Brickle and Digby.

It’s carrying on the tradition for rescues. To make persons understand in a unique way that every animal deserves a voice.

That every animal is valuable. That every animal has feelings and thoughts. That every animal deserves a chance. And that by rescuing a dog like Brickle or Digby or me, you can have your best life possible too.

So on the days I feel sad that my big brother isn’t here with me, I will feel closer to him by doing what he loved too.

Making him proud of me is more important than anyone’s perception of me. Remember that how someone views your life may not be your reality either. Live your life honorably and enjoy it. And let the true reality guide your actions and heart.
