This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Persons call some things projects. Like redoing a house, for example. Like restoring an abandoned house that no one has lived in for decades. Maybe that’s a sort of a project.
I look at this house and I think…wow. From a persons’ point of view it sure is going to be a lot of work and take a long time. From a dog’s point of view, I already love it. For me and Fruitycake, it means freedom.

We can bark as loud as we want. We can be in as much dirt as we want to. And there sure is a lot of that. We can watch the persons all day long. Just call us project management. Especially me.
You see, I’m needing so much care. I didn’t want to scare you, because I am strong. But the persons have thought that they have lost me more than once. One day, they think I won’t be here the next. The next day I want to eat. Then the next day i just struggle to stay awake. They give me pills to help with pain and it does help. But i know that i don’t have a lot of time left. I know that I won’t see my house completely restored. But that’s ok. I kind of like it the way it is now. It’s mine. And I made it here. And that, my friends, is a job already well done.
For Girl Person, she is having some difficult days. She says the house isn’t her worry. No matter how big that project is. She says it is just a house. And that nothing right now is more important than me enjoying something every day. And when the day comes that I don’t enjoy something, it will be time to say “see you soon.”

My cat is here helping me with my job. She just wants to be behind the scenes right now. Fruitycake barked at her the first day in the job, and well, she just hasn’t gotten over it.

So I look at her from afar. I give her space. And I tell her that it’s a good family to be a part of here. It’s a good family to be family. And in time, maybe Black Eyed Pea the cat can join us. But that’s up to her. A good manager like me leads by example. Not force.
When you have a project to do within yourself or in life, it’s so easy to get overwhelmed. But I tell my persons to pick one thing a day to get accomplished. Something that’s part of a bigger picture. It all adds up to a job well done.
