Slowly But Surely

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. We are in that France place today. We drove a long way yesterday from Calais, France to a village near Dijon, France.

We made a few stops along the way. And it was just like the old days in the Big Blue Treat Wagon. Expect that we didn’t break down. And we were in France.

And we were in a car. But you know what I mean.

But these rides are feeling a bit different lately. Instead of many, many different destinations, we have our navigation set to a house. My little house. In that Italy place.

And I won’t peanut butter or sugar coat. Or even put Dijon mustard on my words. Did you know Dijon mustard is from here? Anyways.

I am having a rough time these last few days. Which is why you see us taking many breaks. Even though we could get to that Italy place if we pushed it in one day. I just don’t want to do that.

Some days I feel stronger than others.

Some days I need more rest. Some days i need more therapy on my back and legs. Some days I don’t want to do things. And i have persons that listen to me. It’s very important to be heard. It’s very important to feel valuable.

I call Fruitycake my service dog. Because he always supports me. He always helps me to remember when I was young. He always encourages me and reminds me of what we are driving to. Why we flew on that airplane. Why he knows I can do this.

Slowly but surely. I want to see my house. I want to have a retirement party! Are you in? Now let’s rest today. And get ready for tomorrow. Two more driving days. But first. Snacks. Rest. And dreams of my little house.
