This Is…Me. Josie!

Hi! My name is Josie! But you can call me Juni or Jojo, too. I have three names because apparently one name simply isn’t enough for all this personality! Have you seen my stripes? I’m a brindle beauty, which means I look a little like a tiger, except I’m much more interested in cuddles, toys and finding someone who will love me forever.

I’m about 35 pounds of happiness, enthusiasm and athletic ability! I love running just because it feels wonderful, playing with toys, taking long walks and going on adventures. And after I’ve finished being the world’s greatest athlete? I would like to curl up beside you and be the world’s greatest snuggler. I’m affectionate, playful and house-trained, and I absolutely love being around other animals. A home with furry playmates could be a wonderful place for me! I happen to be in this Johnston County, North Carolina place, an area where animal shelters have faced serious challenges. I can’t change those numbers myself. I can only be Josie, with my beautiful stripes, my hopeful eyes and my paws ready to follow someone home. Maybe someone will look at my picture today and realize that the best adventures are the ones we share. Could that someone be you?

Why Johnston County Needs Our Attention

Johnston County is part of North Carolina, a state facing substantial animal shelter challenges. Recent shelter reporting has highlighted particularly concerning euthanasia numbers in the county. These statistics remind us why supporting local rescue organizations, adopting, fostering and helping animals find homes is so important.

Josie is listed through Johnston County Animal Protection League, and her listing does not establish that she is personally at risk of euthanasia. But she represents something important: every dog deserves to be seen as an individual, not just another number.
