An Appointment With Naughtiness

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. When you wake up some days, do you feel a bit, well, naughty? Maybe you don’t want to go to work.

Maybe you don’t want to get groceries or pay the bills.

Maybe you don’t even want to put on pants. So you don’t. You’re like Fruity with just a shirt.

I am the picture of professional.

But even I wake up naughty some days. Especially when Girl Person decides she wants to get her hair done and leaves us with Boy Person for hours.

Yes. Yes. I know she needs to take care of herself and everything. But seriously. What is more important? Me or hair?

What a question. So the whole time she was gone, I decided to entertain myself and Fruitycake. As it got closer and closer to dinner, I wanted to make sure it was not late. And yet, I didn’t see Girl Person anywhere. So I started barking. And barking. I channeled my inner Digby.

Boy Person was surprised because I usually don’t do that. But it was fun to surprise him. And when Girl Person pulled up, I surprised her too by barking. And jumping. Then when she took us for a walk, I tried to run off on the beach. I laughed. I smiled. Like a naughty, naughty boy. And that made Girl Person laugh and smile. And it was a job well done. Yay, me.

Sometimes, doing everything we are expected to do is overrated. We all need days to be young and free. We all need days to not be so responsible and worried. We all need days that keep others on their toes. Or paws.
