This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. Oh, I’m learning that life is full of options. For example, you know that I love pickles.
Well, imagine all of the things that pickles can go with. You can eat them right out of the jar.
You can eat them on pizza.
You can make a pickle cake. The pawsibilities are endless.
It’s the same with places to go. And even though I am learning about this Italy place that we are moving to, I can already tell that I am all dressed up with everywhere to go.
That’s what Girl Person told me when Gandma dressed me up the other day. For no reason.
But for all the reasons. Because it gave me an excuse to see how far other places are from that Portofino area our little house is in.
I learned that the place called Tuscany is about 2 1/2 hours by train or car.
The Leaning Tower of Pisa, which I wish was pizza with pickles, is actually in Tuscany too.
I learned that the place called Florence is about 2 1/2 hours too from Portofino.
Milan, Italy is 2 1/2 hours away. I may need some new clothes there.
Plus, we can get to a place called Switzerland, which Girl Person’s family is from, in 6 hours.
That would make a nice road trip to take you with us, don’t you think?
The France place with all the beautiful bread and cakes, yes, cakes, is about 2 hours by car or train too!! Oh, do you want to go? Me too!
Whatever you want to do in life, I’m learning, is full of options. We don’t have to agonize over options. Or decisions. We will never be able to do it all. But even one option is worth the effort of change.
What can you change for someone else when you change yourself? We know there are animals to help in these places too.
I’m getting excited. But mostly, I am excited to meet our little house. That to me is worth more than any place. Any option. This is the option we are taking because it’s right for our family. It’s right for our little house. We need it and it needs us.
We will dress up our house too. It will take time and work. And sometimes we will take breaks and trips to these other places. But as we pack up, we dream of all the adventures to come. With you right along with us.
