If I’m Concerned About That, Can I Be Excited About That?

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. The more places I go, and the more that I think I know, the more I realize that life isn’t always black and white.

Like me for instance. Sometimes, some other colors are mixed in there.

That’s right. The past week in this North Carolina place was just beautiful.

The trees and the leaves and the creeks and the streams were just too much to even understand.

In some ways, I wish fall could last just a little longer.

But just like everything and everyone, seasons change and times change and the individuals we love are there. And then they are not. Even though I never met Digby, I know so much about him.

And he would have truly loved this week.

So I enjoyed it for us both. And I think I did a pretty good job at that. Brickle did too. But the persons, I have to say, didn’t do the best job at that. Because they are so concerned about that Italy place and our plane ride.

I wanted to tell them that just because you are concerned about one thing in life, it doesn’t make the other things that are good not good.

Just because we are concerned about getting to that Italy place, it doesn’t make this week any less special.

Brickle says it’s true that if you are concerned about something, to fix it, you have to work at it.

You can’t expect things to happen by themselves. And the persons have been working on it. So that’s what they can do. It’s just hard right now to wake up in a different house all of the time.

We want to get to our own little house.

Some may think this adventure to Italy will be too hard. But I say being in limbo is harder.

We just want to start the new chapter. And so we keep making strides to get there. Wherever we are.

But that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy the good things right now. Here. In front of us.

To not enjoy the beautiful parts of a day would be disrespectful. Wasteful. Not smart.

So if you ask yourself if I am concerned about that, can I still enjoy that? Yes. You can. And you should.

We will be in this North Carolina place until Monday. On Monday, we will drive half way to that Florida place to make sure Slow Ride the car is ok.

We will stay in Warner Robins, Georgia for three nights to let Brickle rest a bit after a long drive. And then we will be in that Tampa, Florida place for two weeks to get our remaining belongings ready to ship. We want to be ready when our flight becomes open. We are hoping we will get a date for the plane soon. All paws crossed.
