This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Have you ever been so rushed that you had no time for chit chat?
Sounds like a good excuse to me. I use it all the time.

But with Fruitycake on walks, let me tell you this. There is no time for real for idle chit chat.
There is only time to make u-turns when you see other dogs coming. The persons are just learning this. For weeks now they have tried to explain over the sound of his barking what the issue is.

“We just adopted him.” “We’ve only had him a few weeks.” “He doesn’t do well on leash.” Should I go on? You get the idea.

But now, Girl Person says she has reached her limit of explaining. She says she doesn’t really have time to explain. She doesn’t want to explain. So what if others run from us?
So what if others pick up their dogs out of sheer amazement that a dog could bark as much as a Fruitycake?
So what if they don’t understand he is in fact a dog? His hair seems to be a bit on the thin side. He has about five different textures of fur. And he may need a makeover.
Did I say that out loud? He’s a mess. In a good way.

It seems to me that persons try to explain everything. In my not so humble opinion, why explain? Try to find the answer yourself.
We are working with Fruitycake on a lot of issues. But guess what? We are all a work in progress. We all have a long way to go.
If you have to explain every little thing to everyone, what a waste of energy. Spend that energy on helping yourself.
Your opinion is the only one that matters.

Yes. I realize that we may be interrupting some walks. I realize Fruity may seem more scary than he is.

He is scared. Nervous. Adjusting. And we need to have patience. I just wish persons would have more patience with others too. They are so quick to judge strangers. They are so quick to think the worst. Compassion and ear plugs go a long way. Find them both if you see us coming.
