I Didn’t Know I Needed That

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. When someone is in survival mode, like I once was, you are happy with the basics.

The necessities. But just surviving, I am finding out, isn’t the best. Living is.

I never thought I wanted to go somewhere called Dinosaur World. Nope. Wasn’t really in my life’s plans. But Girl Person loves odd things.

She likes to pretend like she’s a kid. She really likes to forget about that Depression Monster. And this place sure helped us to do that.

Brickle said it wasn’t every day that you see dinosaurs.

And whatever Brickle says is the truth. He also said that if it made Girl Person happy, that was the important thing. And it definitely made her happy!

I haven’t laughed so hard in a long time. When there are fake, giant dinosaurs, that can put a smile on anyone’s face. There’s nothing serious about it.

I didn’t know I needed to pretend and be a puppy for awhile. I didn’t know I needed that. But I did.

Life gets so complicated for persons. And the older they get, seems like the more complicated it gets. Sometimes you have to put everything aside.

You have to put everything down. And know that it will be there tomorrow. There’s more to life than surviving.

If you have the privilege to enjoy a day, make the time to do that.

Not everyone has that privilege. I didn’t have it just a short time ago.

Brickle tells me that there is so much more to life than what I know so far. He says that there is more good than bad.

He says that there is so much to enjoy in life, but even though persons know their time is short, they still just keep surviving. That didn’t work for the dinosaurs. Did it?

If you need to hear it, I’m taking the time to tell you. There’s something you need to do. Take today.

You’ll be glad you did. You might not know you needed that.
