This is Peanut Butter Brickle. Camping is dirty. There’s no doubt about that. Me and Digby are dirty too. There’s no doubt at all about that.

But the past few days, this Georgia place has taken dirt and mud and rain and wind to a whole new level.

One minute, you are gazing upon the creek. It is flowing. Your heart is singing.

The next minute, you’re worried about getting your groceries out of the car before it rains. The next minute after that, you’re worried about your car and your house washing down a Georgia creek. Yes. That was us. The creek was rising.

Sure, we knew it was going to rain. But we didn’t know it was going to RAIN. When Girl Person looked out the back window, it became apparent that our campsite on the creek may indeed turn the Big Blue Treat Wagon into a boat.

Boy Person said we had about ten minutes before we knew for sure if we had to get out. The problem was that roads were washing away too. We didn’t really know what we should do. We had a chance of getting stuck. Or slipping. The water seemed like it would never stop rising.

Have you ever felt like your life was about to slip away or wash away? Have you ever felt that every decision was impossible? And that you didn’t know which way to go?

Or maybe you have felt stuck. Or maybe…all of the above.

I think everyone is feeling all the emotions right now. And we go thru them all every day. It can be exhausting. But when we feel that we are sinking in the mud, the only way to survive is to pull ourselves out of it.

It’s harder some days than others. That’s for sure. Especially when the rain never seems to stop.

And some days, we will have more strength than other days. Why? It’s easy to keep sinking. And before you know it, you’re deeper in negativity than you thought. So before you end up being swept away by this world’s negativity, remember this. You are stronger than you know.

You have to take time for you. Refresh, regroup, get yourself out of the mud. We may have to do this for awhile. But let’s never forget the wonderful things in our world now. Even when we’re by a rising creek. Life goes by faster than a rising creek.
