This is Fruitycake. Some days you have to just realize that life, well, is unpredictable. And that life has a way of slapping you in the face. With pigs.
Every afternoon, you may know that Girl Person and I have a routine of taking a walk on our path. We try to notice all the things. We take our time. We use our imaginations to see the faces and the mysteries of the forest. It’s our time to just be ourselves and forget our worries.

So when you trying to forget your worries, you may not be paying attention as much as you should be. And before you know it, there are baby pigs falling from the sky.

Now listen. I’m not a scientist or a meteorologist. I’m a dog.

But even with all my education, more than the aforementioned occupations, I know it’s quite unusual that a pig, and especially many baby pigs would fall from the sky.

But when they are falling on you, you don’t ask questions, my friends. In my case, I grabbed the first one who fell on me from above on the path and I ran off.

We both ended up in the stream, all wet with Girl Person holding on to me, picking up the pig, grabbing a tree stump to protect us from mama pig and screaming so loud she lost her voice.

Why did she have to carry me, pick up the little pig who fell down and also try to save all of our lives? Mama pig…hundreds of pounds…was grunting so loud in the bushes and threatened to take us all out. No way was that gonna happen with a random tree stump! Actually, yeah. It was all ridiculous but true.

We did get away to live another day. But lessons were learned that day. First of all, pigs can fly and pigs can fall from the sky. Second of all, carry a tree stump at all times if you have to. Because we all, we all, have to remember life is unpredictable.

A tree stump may not be appropriate in all situations. But quick wit is. You have it. I know you do. We all may face unpredictable situations or ones we didn’t plan for.

Sometimes it will take you to your knees. We know this too. But if we can survive pigs falling from the sky, you. Can. Too. Now, let’s keep looking up this week. We must. We will. No matter what falls from the sky!
