This is Fruitycake. Persons say when there is smoke, there is fire. True, true. But sometimes, that fire goes out. And then you can’t make pizza or focaccia. And what then? I don’t even want to think about it.
We have to work very hard during the winter to keep the fire going. Between the rain and cold and more rain, wood is a precious commodity. So are fire starters. You gotta have them. You can have all the wood in the world, but you must be able to get the fire going!
We have more ways than one to start not only our fires to keep warm, but our fires to make changes here. Girl Person is sick and needs surgery. We can’t wait and this week we need her to see another doctor.
This wasn’t the news we wanted. But sometimes you have to make changes quickly, whether you are ready or not. Whether it’s the right time or not. It’s like gathering wood before the rain. You may be tired but if you don’t do it, you’ll have no fire at all.
The fire in our hearts to be the best we can for you and the animals that need us is still there and alive.
But emails and messages came in like suffocating elements this weekend that were negative and mean. You better be glad I didn’t see them. I’ll never understand why some persons feel better being mean to others. The truth is, it’s hard those days to not let it hurt.
The next month won’t be easy. We may have to reevaluate many things to keep the fire going. But love and prayers will keep the fire going for us.
Sometimes, maybe just like us, you may feel like you work and work to make changes or do better and your fire keeps going out. You think you can’t start it again. Wow, it sure is tough some days.
Others too may not believe in you, but I do. God does. And the fire in you is stronger and warmer than doubt, anxiety or anger and even more stronger than fear.
You’ve got some fire starters left in you! Now, hand me a match. I’ve got some pizza to make! It’s my Gotcha Day on Thursday and this week, I’ve got the good vibes and the best celebrations on the way!
