This Is…Me. Trotter.
I have a nose that can find just about anything. An interesting smell in the grass, another dog’s footsteps, or perhaps the place where somebody dropped a sandwich three days ago. My nose has taken me on some wonderful adventures, but there is one thing I haven’t been able to find yet. My person. I keep looking, though. Every new smell makes me curious about what might be around the corner, and I wonder if someday I’ll turn that corner and find someone who has been looking for me, too.
I’m a pretty good adventurer, but here’s something you should know about me. I don’t want to explore the whole world alone. I want someone to walk beside me, wait while I investigate something terribly important in the grass, and laugh when I decide we need to go back and smell it again. I love other dogs, and I love affection even more. I’m only four years old, and I have so many walks, naps, cuddles and ordinary Tuesdays left to share. I don’t need an extraordinary life. I just want to be part of somebody’s everyday life. Maybe you could be the person I’ve been trying to find.
This is me. Trotter. And I’m still looking for you.

Why We Started This Is…Me
There are real dogs sitting in real shelters right now, waiting for someone to notice them. Unfortunately, social media is increasingly filled with fake rescue stories, AI-generated animals and photographs that don’t belong to the dogs being described. Meanwhile, dogs like Trotter are still waiting.
That’s why 2 Traveling Dogs created This Is…Me. We want to help real rescue dogs be seen, believed and rescued. We share their actual shelter information, real photographs and stories written from their imagined perspective to help people see the individual behind the adoption listing.
Shelters And Rescues: Submit Your Dogs For FREE!
Are you a shelter or rescue organization with a dog who needs more attention? We would love to help tell their story! There is absolutely no charge for shelters and rescues to submit dogs for consideration.
Simply email rachael@2travelingdogs.com with your shelter’s name and location, the dog’s name, photographs, adoption link and a little information about their personality and needs. Individuals can also nominate a shelter dog they would love to see featured.
We can’t promise every submission will be featured immediately, but every dog deserves the opportunity to be noticed.
Help Us Keep Real Rescue Stories Going
Our This Is…Me stories are made possible through individual sponsors who believe real rescue dogs deserve real attention. Each sponsorship helps 2 Traveling Dogs continue this work, sharing dogs who might otherwise remain unseen.
