This Is…Me. Bubba.

Hello. My name is Bubba. I am six years old, and I have been waiting here since March. I don’t know why I am still waiting. I watch people come and go, and sometimes I wonder what it is about me that makes them keep walking. Maybe I am too big. Maybe I am too old. Maybe they just haven’t looked into my eyes long enough to see me. I wish I could tell them that I don’t need a perfect home.

I have never asked for much. I want to belong to someone. I want someone to say, “That’s my Bubba,” and mean it with their whole heart.

Why We Started This Is…Me

Every day, thousands of real rescue animals wait in shelters while social media fills with stories that aren’t always real. AI-generated pictures, fabricated rescue stories and misleading posts can make it difficult for people to know which animals genuinely need help.

That’s why we started This Is…Me, a rescue awareness project by 2 Traveling Dogs.

We wanted to bring attention back to real animals, real shelters and real opportunities to make a difference. Each feature begins with an identifiable animal at a legitimate shelter or rescue organization. We use storytelling to give that animal a voice, but we never want readers to confuse an imagined first-person story with verified facts.

Our goal is simple. We want people to stop scrolling long enough to see an individual life. We want them to know where that animal is, how to help and how to adopt.

Seen, believed and rescued.

Because every animal deserves more than being another face in a crowded feed.

There is no fee for shelters or rescues to submit an animal for consideration. You can also nominate a rescue animal you believe deserves to be featured.
