VERIFIED REAL by 2 Traveling Dogs | THIS IS…ME
This is a real dog. A real photo. A real story. Not an Al-generated dog or rescue story. Our new “This Is…Me” verification project exists because real rescue dogs deserve to be seen, believed and rescued. Every dog we verify has a real life behind the picture-and that life matters.
This is Conway. I have been in the shelter a long time. But that is only part of me. Where I am doesn’t make up all of me! I know one day the right person will see me and let me live my fullest potential! I may not like every dog or cats but I do like treats. I’m very independent and so my best thinking and problem solving alone. Imagine what we could accomplish together! I think that if my person walks thru the door, the first thing we will do when we ride away into the sunset is roll down the windows and head to a drive thru for a treat! Who’s in?
Conway is a male Shepherd/Mixed Breed at Chattahoochee Humane Society in Valley, Alabama. He weighs about 53 pounds and is approximately 2 years old. His shelter ID is CHAT-A-20508, and his adoption fee is only $25.
Conway is described as affectionate, independent, medium-energy and treat motivated. He is already housetrained and leash trained, likes car rides and is even good at bath time! Conway is dog selective, is not good with cats, and the shelter recommends that he be the only dog in his home and preferably live in an adult-only household.
Conway has been waiting a long time. His intake date was November 18, 2025. Current listings still show Conway among the shelter’s available dogs, so this boy has spent many months waiting for someone to notice him.

The shelter is a registered 501(c)(3), and its posted hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 AM–5 PM, Saturday from noon–4 PM, and closed Wednesday and Sunday.
One especially important detail right now: earlier this month, the shelter reported being over capacity, with 71 dogs and only 58 kennels, making adoptions especially important.

Tell us what makes them funny, special, ridiculous, loving or completely unforgettable. There is no charge to shelters or rescues to submit an animal. We’ll do our best to verify the information and help tell their story to our audience.
This is exactly why we created This Is…Me — Seen. Believed. Rescued. Somewhere in a shelter today is a real dog like Conway waiting for a real person to notice them. At a time when AI-generated animals, stolen photographs and recycled rescue stories can make it difficult to know what is real online, we want to help real shelter animals be seen, believed and given the chance to go home.
