Clam Stuffing For Dogs and People
Ingredients
4 cups stale country bread, cut into 1 1/2-inch cubes
1/2 cup organic carrots, diced
1/2 cup organic red pepper, diced
1 teaspoon minced fresh organic sage
4 tablespoons organic olive oil
1/4 cup organic parsley
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 cup diced Pismo Clams (or local clams in your area), chopped
Preparation
1. Heat oven to 325 degrees. Spread bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer and bake 15 to 20 minutes, or until lightly toasted; set aside.
2. Increase oven temperature to 375 degrees. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add clams. Sauté, until clams are cooked through, 5-8 minutes. Remove to a large bowl with a slotted spoon and set aside.
3. Add garlic, carrots, red pepper and sage to pan and cook over medium-low heat, stirring, until vegetables start to soften, about 5 minutes. Remove vegetables to bowl with clams.
4. Add bread cubes, olive oil, parsley, and clams to vegetables and mix well. Transfer dressing to a baking dish and bake until golden brown and crisp on top, about 20 minutes.
Let cool completely before serving to your dog.
