This is Peanut Butter Brickle. You know, life is funny. If you have a sense of humor. If you don’t have a sense of humor, well…it doesn’t make much sense.
Last week, my brother Fruitycake had his favorite toy stolen from the crows where we were staying. Yes. Yes. I’m serious.
If you doubt me, just remember this warning. Don’t expect to be friends with crows and also have all of your possessions. Don’t have a favorite ball like Fruitycake with a monkey face on it and forget to say I love you every time you say goodbye. Yes. Fruitycake has been pretty upset about it.
So when we had to move houses on Friday, we were not sad to leave in the least. The persons spent the week without hot water. And Fruitycake lost his toy. Life isn’t always a beach.
But when life takes away your monkey ball, you can keep crying. Or you can try and move on. And we did. We moved on, got in Slow Ride, and headed to that Miami place.
But first we stopped at a shell factory! A place where dogs could go and shop. And you know I like that. But Fruitycake had a goal to outshop me. Because our favorite aunt gave us some treat money and said we could buy ourselves a present. And Fruitycake sure did. He picked out the biggest and brightest friend he found. He knew right away what he wanted. Me? I bought food. I didn’t lose a monkey ball.
You know, my present was seeing Fruitycake so happy. It’s so much fun for all of us to see him experience new things.
Girl Person was happy to see him with his new friend…who still needs a name. But she kept thinking about his ball. And how she could find another one. We got it many months ago at a monkey sanctuary.
And little did we know that our favorite aunt called the sanctuary and made a deal with them to send Fruity another monkey face ball!!! But he doesn’t know yet. But it is being sent to Gandma’s house!!! That makes me happy. Very happy. And I can keep a secret!
I’m not sure how he will feel about monkey when he sees it. Or if his shark will have stolen his heart. Or if he has room for both.
My feeling is that his heart is big enough for all of them. We should all have hearts big enough to fit all the love for many in there.
Life is funny. And tricky. And sometimes we may think we lose something, when in fact, we end up with more blessings.
So leave your heart open.
And see how much and how many you can love.
We are here in this Miami place until Tuesday. The persons are going to take papers to the Italian consulate place. Whatever happens, their heart is open. When one door closes, you know the rest.
