This is Peanut Butter Brickle. I wasn’t too sure the blog would happen today because Girl Person is so very sick. I don’t remember the last time she took a sick day. But she called in sick to me yesterday. And I had to give her the day off.
I told Boy Person amd Fruitycake that they would have to take over. And I wasn’t particularly sure that they could do the job. I’m sure you can understand why.
I didn’t particularly think she works so a very good job if she showed up to work anyway. Because you see, the night before, I thought I could jump up on the bed without help. And I knocked myself right into her eye. So yes. She has a shiner too.
I was surprised, but we all survived yesterday. Boy Person got my medicine, Fruitycake’s medicine and Girl Person’s medicine. Seems like we are running a hospital here lately. And we all take turns being nurses.
When one of us feels a little better, one of us gets sick. And I guess that’s life. At least for right now. I am still hoping that we all can get better to get to that Italy place. But that is secondary right now.
Health, I am finding out is the most important factor in a happy life. What is more important than health? Health means a longer time with the ones that you love.
But somehow, Girl Person can’t see this as clearly as I want her to. So her body told her loud and clear.
As much as Girl Person takes care of me, she somehow doesn’t feel she’s worth attention for herself. So she runs herself down. Do you know anyone who does that? If it’s you, I hope that you hear me now. Because although I need so much care and attention, if Girl Person doesn’t at least devote half of that time to herself, our time with each longer won’t be as long.
Without struggle, how do we know strength? We don’t. But strength doesn’t always have to be physical. Sometimes the biggest battles we fight are with ourselves. Feeling valid and worthy and…alive.
Girl Person has some getting better to do. And so that’s going to be more work for her to handle than her regular job. But don’t worry. Brickle is the boss and I’m telling her to take today off. Do I need to tell you too?
