This is Peanut Butter Brickle. You might find this surprising. But I actually am a bit confrontational. Yes. Me. I know that you find it hard to believe. But it’s true. I like telling others what to do. Because obviously, I always know the right thing to do. They didn’t call me the Sheriff for years for nothing.
You see, most of the time, I hold myself together. I watch and judge silently.
But sometimes, things just get to me. Things compound. Things get on my nerves. And instead of letting my emotions out slowly, they seem to boil over like a pot of hot marinara.
Confrontation. It happens. Sometimes we don’t bring it on. Sometimes others start it. Like these crows around here. These crows who keep coming to my beach and talking loud while I’m trying to relax. These crows who decided to drop a branch on my head from the tree.
These crows who are on my nerves.
The persons think it’s funny. The persons like to watch this drama of the crows yelling at me and me barking back. Fruity doesn’t know what’s happening so he just copies me. He is in training, you know.
Confrontation. Most of the time, I have found in life that confrontation results in no results. None. We work ourselves up to yell and tell our side of a story. Or to make our point known while the other side is trying to do the same. And no one hears anything. So nothing gets solved. What is the point? It’s exhausting. Just ask Fruity.
Some just wait for confrontation. And that’s how I used to be. But I’m working on my tolerance. Because you see, it’s never too late to be better. Is it?
Now. I cannot promise you for the next two days we are here that I won’t have some discussions with the crows.
But if the crows want an argument, it’s not going to happen.
You see, someone has to try and be the better person. It doesn’t mean weakness. It actually shows how strong you are.
Crows? Listen up. For the next two days, this is Brickle Beach.
You can talk. I’ll listen. But if you drop another branch on my head? You better watch out.
