This is Fruitycake. I love to be outside. It’s a different feeling too, when you have a home and you know its yours. I can sit outside by my house and look out and just wonder. Wonder how it all came to be. This house. This earth. Me.
But being outside and feeling like you’re an outsider can be very hard.
For Girl Person, her anxiety monster got to her yesterday. She realized that she was indeed feeling like an outsider. She walks with me and realizes she doesn’t understand the language well enough, she doesn’t know the persons around well enough, and everything is overwhelming and confusing.
Someone told her that it will take a couple years for any new place to feel like home.
And yet, when will we feel like we belong? Girl Person wondered this yesterday. She asked herself why she thought she was strong enough to do this. She asked herself why she picked such a hard path. Literally.
She asked herself if she really thought it would work out. And if she could go on with her plans of an oasis and sanctuary here. She asked herself if she was truly worthy of it all.
And then she realized something. If she didn’t think she was worthy and capable and she gave up, this would have all been a waste. A waste not only of her time, but many others. And Brickle’s last time on earth.
And she couldn’t do that…feel unworthy. She has to feel worthy in order for this to happen and in order to help the ones that need her.
We all can feel like outsiders at times in our lives. And it’s in those moments and days that we want to give up and give in to our inner thoughts of doubt that we have to take a deep breath. And realize we are all the same. It’s what we do with the purpose each one of us was given to be here. What a shame it would be to not fulfill that purpose. What is Girl Person’s purpose? She knows it led her here. Because otherwise, nothing makes sense.
And that is her answer. She’s not an outsider, but she has to take a look inside and find the strength. You may feel the same. If you know your purpose and you lost it, it’s not too late to find it again. It’s your purpose and yours alone. And no one can take that away from you, no matter where you are.
