He Said, “It’s Magic”

This is Fruitycake. If you think that things here are hard for us at our home in this Italy place, you are right. Well, it’s not hard on me. I have a little couch and a bed and focaccia and pizza. I also get to hike and visit the sea every day.

But for person standards, we have so much to work do. Day by day, Girl Person says.

Their usual standard of finishing a project quickly is not possible here. So they have to pace themselves and it’s a race of endurance.

It will take magic for our blog to continue in May. Help here

But, if you watch here, you will start to see how much it is a place of peace and of magic. Yes, magic. Especially last night, he said, “it’s magic.”

That’s right. Magic. Do you remember when I told you that our wildlife project this month was going to be for toads? And that my movie for May to show my appreciation for your help was about me and a toad?

Well, even I was questioning this. Why? We had read about toads here, but had not seen any.

And Girl Person also thought to herself that if this was the case, why did they need us? Obviously, toads have long lived without human help. So why?

So why were we being called to do this project when we have so much to do here for our own house? Why is Girl Person discarding the negative emails and messages she got over the weekend, and forging ahead, and not giving up when they told her to?

Because of the toad.

We all may look around and see some wildlife like birds and toads and butterflies and bats living without us. Sometimes it is best to leave them alone. But sometimes, as the toad in the rain told me last night, he wanted to know he was wanted. And seen. And so there he was like magic.

In the rain by a water jug trying to get some shelter. There he was saying he did want to be seen. There he was, the only toad we have seen here this far. He said, “it’s magic.”

Coincidence? No. Serendipity, perhaps.

Do you believe in magic? I do. The whole world is magic but we don’t see it. Especially on a Monday like today. But it’s there.

We are meant to build some toad houses here. Just the bats last month could have been sad when they came back and saw we were using their cantina now and could just go somewhere else, now they can see their bat box.

Knowing that we see them and appreciate them and that we want them here in peace.

Give wildlife a chance to be seen and appreciated. They want to know that you care.

I know toads may not be on the top of your list.

But I know me and the persons are on your list somewhere. Because you are on our list. Is it magic we are on this journey together in Italy? Do we know fully all the magic here? No. That the best part.

it’s nice to meet you Magic Toad Man. Now, what kind of houses do you want?

Fruitycake
