This is Fruitycake. Some things make so little sense to me in this world that they do make sense. Because the crazier things that happen, the more I know that none of us know what we are doing. Except the woodland creatures that have something against us apparently.
For the last few days, whenever we go out to a specific spot at our house, we have to be very careful. Especially at night. Especially at night. You have to be very aware. And if you hear any type of noise, you better run. Fast.
Last night, Girl Person went out to look at some stars. There were so many in the sky. But all of a sudden, she heard it again. Something tumbling down. And she ran inside just in time.
Now, if this was a one time occurrence, ok. But when you hear creatures making noise and scurrying away, it’s not so random anymore. Apparently, this is big fun for them to throw the big rocks at us.
Who is doing it? We don’t know. But we have seen little creatures that look like ferrets. We have seen the wild pigs. We have heard the irritable crows. Whoever it is has a sense of humor directed at our expense.
Sometimes in life, Girl Person says she feels like rocks are being thrown at her from many directions. She says the more she tries, the more that things go wrong. But she is trying to believe in herself more.
Because she says only she can make the things better that need to be better. And she won’t give up yet. She says someone out there needs us. She can’t let them down. I won’t either.
If you feel like this too, try to listen for signs a rock may be falling on you.
And perhaps, just perhaps, protect yourself. We all have to.
