This is Girl Person. Time sure does fly by. I know. You’ve heard that before. And we all have. But as I get older, I know that this is true. I don’t know where the time goes. But I sure wish I could get it back.
This week, I put up a book on presale I have been working on for 899 days. “How To Live Like Digby.” It was actually one of the easiest books I’ve worked on. I am still finishing it up. But in a way I don’t want to.
The day that we lost Digby Pancake to a longtime health battle was one of the hardest days of my life. I think in many respects that it was the hardest day of my life. I don’t want to be disrespectful to people I have lost in my life. But somehow, losing Digby was different. And although I’ll never be the same, i try to use my emotions to continue what his whole life was about. Showing others how to be happy. Showing others how to smile. Showing others how to overcome a bad beginning and make it into a way to appreciate every day now all the more. How to live like Digby.
We had many more days than 899 together. And I fully believe that his legacy continues. Because absence doesn’t do away with a life full of joy and adventure. He was here. He did live. He now lives on in other ways. And once of those ways is my new book now on preorder.
It’s my opinion that Digby’s life can teach not only persons how to be better. But his life can help other rescues too. He showed a discarded hunting dog can overcome tragedy. He showed that even if a rescue dog is a challenge, you can help each other.
