Stuck In Scared

This is Fruitycake. Have you ever lost your voice? I have. This last week and a half after the wild pig attack was so difficult that I didn’t have the energy to do anything but heal. My body really was hurting. And truth be told, and I always tell the truth, I only had the energy to rest.

I didn’t mention it to anyone, but after the attack, I was scared.

Even though I didn’t say it out loud, Girl Person knew that I was scared, because I didn’t want to go up the path after walks.

I was afraid of what or who may be around the corner again.

But when others know you so well, like the persons know me, they could tell I was scared it would happen again. And even though I’m on a leash now all of the time on the path and I have those bells, I do think about what happened. I’m just not over it yet.

Girl Person says that’s ok. I don’t have to be over it. I just can’t get stuck in scared. It’s deeper than the mud here. And that’s deep.

Has something ever happened to you that made you feel stuck? You could have felt stuck for days or years, or many years. Many didn’t know this, but even Brickle was scared of lightening and thunder after one time he and Girl Person almost got struck in that Florida place.

He never got over it.

But you don’t have to be stuck. It may take work to get out of that mud. You may have to buy new shoes or gear up with extra clothes.

You may have to get help. And that’s ok. Because getting help is better than being stuck. Sometimes, you have to ask for it. And right now, if I don’t want to be stuck in fear, I do need help. Life is too good to not ask.

I do need encouragement. I need Girl Person to say “I got you.” Like she did Brickle.

Stuck in scared is no place to be. There is life after bad things that happen to us. There is life after tragedy. There is life after loss. How do I know that? Life keeps going around me.

The birds keep singing, the sun keeps shining, the waterfall keeps falling. And there is life for you too.
