This is Fruitycake. A house doesn’t clean itself. Unless you have a few dogs and leave crumbs in all the nooks and crannies. In that case, you’ll have a house with less crumbs, but more dog hair. Your decision!
And houses don’t fix themselves either. Certainly not this one. If that could happen, all the decades it was left alone would have been plenty of time to fix it. But instead, it crumbles all around us. Crumbles. Crumbs. Interesting.
Girl Person was vacuuming yesterday. How does she vacuum without electricity? Well, the vacuum has batteries that we charge up from the generator that gets charged by the solar panels. That’s what I’m told. I only know how to clean the nooks and crannies.
A dream can only be as big as those that believe in it. We have such a wonderful and grand 2 Traveling Dogs family. We’ve been together with you since 2011 giving a voice and purpose to animals and the ones who do the hard work like rescues and shelters.
As she was trying to vacuum off the walls with paint coming off, she noticed a moth right before she got sucked up into the black hole of the vacuum. Girl Person had but a split second to decide the moth’s fate. Stop, turn off the vacuum and rescue the mini moth. Or keep vacuuming, suck up the mini moth and not worry about it. After all, she had things to do with a house crumbling all around her. What was a moth to be bothered with? But in that split second, she remembered what she knew. That moths live a short life. And that her life was of no more value just because it happened to be longer.
So she shut off the vacuum monster in a hurry. But she was dismayed to see the moth wasn’t moving. So she very gently picked it up, careful not to damage its miny wings. And the moth started moving. Girl Person was so happy and apologized up and down and all around about the mishap. And the moth fluttered off outside.
Girl Person later went out to tend to the garden. And there, waiting by the door was Minnie The Mini Moth. Her name had been Minnie all along, before the vacuum incident and during and after. But just now, because Girl Person had taken notice of her, she was privileged to learn and know her name.
Minnie fluttered on to Girl Person’s shirt and refused to leave her for the rest of the day.
And that’s how Minnie The Mini Moth spent one of her few days on this earth.
Big or small
Long or short
A life can be well lived
Depending on the course.
You can take a life
Or make a life
You can break a wing
Or let them sing.
You can feed a soul
Or take one too
That choice my friend
Is up to you.
Be different than the others
Who don’t care at all
Be different of the masses
That to hate call.
Know who is with you
And fluttering around your soul
Make kindness
Your primary goal.
Minnie The Miny Moth
Was happy to fly
Her family she saw again
To have sucked her up
Would have been a sin.
Mini or large
Let your heart be in charge
Don’t do what’s expected
Don’t be the normal
Cherish the moths
Admire the sparrows
