This is Fruitycake. Has anyone ever told you that you should be someone other than who you are? I bet they have. Persons want to feel better about themselves when others act how they want them to. And it’s easy to try and please them. To turn into someone you are not.
Us dogs are expected to act how persons want us to all the time. They tell us our schedule, and they tell us how to act and where to go. Some of us, like Brickle and Digby, decided they were their own persons and never turned into anyone but who they were. I’m the same way because I don’t have the time to do anything but act natural.
It’s that time of day to say my affirmation with me! Ready?
I will act natural. I will listen when others give me words that help me to learn or understand. But I will not stand for others trying to turn me into someone I am not. I will act natural, and by doing that, I will be my best self, and I will contribute to the world being a better place. My example will show others that even if it makes others uncomfortable, I am me. And that is the best way to ever be.

P.S. This is Fruitycake. The Italy heatwave has been very hard on the persons, especially Girl Person as she continues to recover. We are hoping to spend two nights next week somewhere with air conditioning to rest and cool down. We also need groceries tomorrow.
