This is Fruitycake.
Do you know something? Even the smartest dogs make mistakes.
Sometimes I bark at a leaf because I think it’s something scary. Sometimes I head toward the wrong trail. Sometimes I sniff the wrong backpack hoping someone packed pizza for me.
Oops.
But making a mistake isn’t the problem.
Pretending you didn’t make one… now that’s where things get messy.
Girl Person always says we learn more from the things that don’t go right than the things that do. If we never admit our mistakes, we never get the chance to fix them or grow from them.
It takes courage to say, “I was wrong.”
It takes strength to say, “I’m sorry.”
And it takes wisdom to say, “Next time, I’ll do better.”
Nobody gets everything right. Not me. Not Girl Person. Not Boy Person. Not anyone.
The important thing isn’t being perfect. It’s being willing to learn.
So today, let’s not be afraid of our mistakes. Let’s own them, learn from them, and then keep walking forward. After all, even if you take a wrong turn, you can still end up somewhere wonderful.
Now let’s say today’s affirmation out loud together.
I am strong enough to admit my mistakes. I do not let pride stand in the way of growth. Every mistake teaches me something valuable, and every new day gives me another chance to do better. I will choose honesty, humility, and hope.
P.S. We have another trip tomorrow, and we urgently need your help. The buses have been completely full in this extreme heat, forcing Girl Person and me to walk from the Santa Margherita train station toward the path. We both came dangerously close to passing out, and Girl Person is still recovering from surgery and cannot carry more than ten pounds. We are trying to raise $75 for a taxi so we can safely get from the train station to the beginning of the path. If you can help with any amount today, it would mean more than we can say. Your kindness keeps us safe and helps us continue Brickle’s legacy of Making Rescues The Breed Of Choice. Thank you for standing beside us. ❤️
