My Mistakes Are Lessons, Not Life Sentences

This is Fruitycake.  Tuesday seems like a good day to talk about mistakes.  Why? Because even I make mistakes.  And it’s Tuesday.

Yes, I make mistakes.  Remember that time that I thought I could chase a wild pig off of our path and l almost lost my life for that mistake? Yeah.  I’ve made mistakes.

I know you have made mistakes too.  So have my persons.  Girl Person especially has had a terrible few weeks with surgery.  And things have changed.  When we moved to that Italy place, we didn’t see the future like it looks now.  And it’s easy right now for my persons to get caught up in regret.  It’s easy to give up everything they’ve tried to do for animals all of these years. Some decisions do feel like mistakes.  Do you have those kind of thoughts too? Then today’s affirmation is for you and me and my persons.  Ready? Ok! Say it with me.

I forgive myself for past decisions and trust myself to make better ones going forward. 

My mistakes are lessons, not life sentences. 

I cannot change the choice I made, but I can choose how I grow from it. Every experience teaches me something valuable. I carry the lesson and release the regret.I accept that I made the best decision I could with what I knew at the time. I release regret, learn from the experience, and move forward with wisdom and self-compassion.

It’s Tuesday.  Today is a good day to move forward, don’t you agree? I sure do love you. And my persons do too.
