This is Fruitycake. There is no doubt that today is an important day.
But as important as the appointment is that my persons have in this Italy place, there are actually way more important things today. And every day.
If we wake up, that’s so important and we should be so thankful. If we get to have food to eat, a blanket to keep warm and be loved, that’s so important. There is never a shortage of the truly important things that happen in our lives. Us dogs know this. Do you?
My persons have been very nervous and anxious. As tired as they are, and some days they think that they can’t go on, they do. But to say they are scared is telling you the truth. And I always tell the truth just like Brickle. Digby on the other hand I’ve heard would say anything for a pancake.
A few things may happen for my persons today. They may be told we are clear to stay and fix the house, use the land and start a rescue and wildlife conservation education center.
Or they may be told they need more papers and that they have to leave for a while, come back and try again.
Or they may be told there is another delay and come back in a few months again.
Or something may happen entirely. But here is what I know has happened already. Brickle got us to this Italy place for a reason. Brickle got too tired and he’s not here now.
We have tried to honor his and Digby’s legacy and keep helping rescues even when we are in need. And we have made progress and pushed ourselves further than we thought possible.
But even with all of that, there is not a guarantee. No. Even with all of that, we may get news we don’t know how to handle. But that is where prayer and belief in our purpose to help animals and wildlife and people comes in. It is stronger than a decision made by persons. If someone created this whole universe and us, surely he can help us keep going and do this in a way that is right.
So here we go. This is it, but it’s also not the end. No matter what.
Please be patient with my persons today. Their appointment is in the morning, but they will not be updating until the late afternoon. We love you all. We thank you for your prayers and your love. Family is family. Everywhere and in every place.
