One More Week

This is Peanut Butter Brickle. If anyone knows that time flies, it would be me. I forget sometimes how much I’ve done in my life and all of the places I have been.

It seems like yesterday that we were in that Big Blue Treat Wagon.

And I don’t know how I now ended up in a vacation rental for a month somewhere called Weeki Wachee where mermaids live.

And now, that month is just about over. We have just one more week here. And then what? I’m not particularly sure.

We have been taking things day by day, because really, that’s all we can do. It’s a lot to take care of a senior dog like me and a Fruitycake.

Especially for my persons because they are still trying to figure out our schedule and when we can get to that Italy place and if we can. They have an appointment for more paperwork at the end of the month in this Florida place on top of everything. And well, time flies whether you’re having fun or you’re not. So you might as well have fun. That’s what I say.

So one more week in our little yard here is what we have. I’ve enjoyed watching all the things to watch and I’ve enjoyed staying in one place. But now it’s time to look for another place to stay where I will be comfortable and able to have the best care. So I’m pretty sure we won’t go far. One more week.

That means I have a lot more cards to get done and Boy Person has some stuff to make and sell too. We have liked pretending we are artists and it’s helped us all to feel like we are accomplishing something. That’s really important in life, isn’t it?

No matter how much time any of us have left, whether its years or a month or a week, or a day, feeling like you’re contributing in some way towards a goal makes you feel like you’re worth sticking around a bit longer.

When I was younger and we traveled more, Digby and I always looked forward to the next place. We didn’t really appreciate each place to the full until after we were gone.

And I don’t want to be like that any longer. I see the good wherever we go. I see the value in observing. And of appreciation. And of feeling like I am part of the scenery and the earth. Wherever I am.

Don’t let a week go by, or even another day without looking at where you are and appreciating how you got there.
