I’ve heard people say that life is like a bowl of spaghetti. Every once in awhile, you get a meatball.
Well, every once in awhile, a dog comes into your life that is the best dog. A good dog. All dogs are good dogs!

And all the good dogs deserve a big bowl of spaghetti and meatballs!
When we received a new cookware set from Camping World last week, I was very inspired to make my dogs that very good recipe of spaghetti and meatballs I had been dreaming of.

You see, I have always loved cooking. I have always loved Italian food. I have always loved my dogs.

And I had been waiting on the right cookware set for some time.

Because I make all of my dogs’ food, and try to use natural and good ingredients, the right cookware is part of my recipes. That is why I picked the Levels 11-Piece Stackable Ceramic Nonstick Cookware Set from Camping World. Multiple diamond infused layers makes a dependable nonstick coating. Comfortable stay cool handles. Durable and metal utensil safe surface. Free of PFAS, PFOA, lead and cadmium.
My dogs love spaghetti and meatballs. In fact, I think it may be their absolute favorite meal. So here is Brickle and Fruitycake’s recipe for all the good dogs! Which means all dogs. Obviously. All dogs are good dogs.
Spaghetti and Meatballs For All The Good Dogs
Ingredients
One 16 ounce jar of crushed tomatoes
1/2 cup shredded baby carrots (adds a touch of sweetness without adding sugar)
4 tablespoons organic olive oil
1/2 cup, fresh, chopped basil leaves
1 tablespoon dried oregano
Optional: 1 chopped clove of fresh garlic
1/2 pound of lean, ground beef or other protein of your choice
1/4 cup of breadcrumbs or panko
1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1 egg
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 package of dried spaghetti
Directions
In a bowl, start by mixing the ground beef with the breadcrumbs, egg, dried basil and mozzarella cheese. Form into balls, cover with plastic wrap and put in refrigerator for one hour to firm up and let the flavors meld together.
In a saucepan, simmer the crushed tomatoes, carrots, olive oil, basil leaves and oregano until bubbling. Turn to low and simmer for least an hour, stirring occasionally.
Take your meatballs out of the fridge and bring your sauce back to a low boil. Drop the meatballs right into the sauce! Turn to low and let simmer for 30 minutes. Turn off heat and set aside.
Boil your pasta and cook according to package directions. Drain. Get out your bowls and fill with pasta, add sauce with meatballs and serve to your dog!
Don’t forget, NEVER serve hot food to your dog. Always serve at room temperature. This is considered a treat, and not a nutrionally complete meal replacement. Always check with your vet before making any changes to your dog’s diet.
