All Paws On Deck

This is Fruitycake The Raccoon. If there is one thing I am not experienced at, it’s cleaning. I know how to get things dirty. But cleaning? Leave me out.

Brickle says persons spend more than half of their lives cleaning. They clean every day. They say they clean up after us. But I know the truth.

I’m wondering if you didn’t have as much stuff, would you be able to clean less? Seems like we are making strides to do just that.

Right now in our family, it’s all paws on deck! Boy Person is trying to get rid of things in a storage unit by donating them and selling what he can. He has a really hard job. Because those things have been in there for many, many years.

Plus, unless the persons want to carry all that stuff a half mile up to our little house in Italy, they better think twice about what they want to keep.

Have you ever had so much to do that you just want to give up? Have you ever questioned if you’ll ever get it done? We sure are.

We need all paws on deck and we have to focus. But some days we are just tired and that’s ok too. Life can make you very tired.

Because if this was easy I guess it wouldn’t feel as good when we get there. Memories are made from the climb. Memories are made from the swim.

The truth is, our family needs each other to make this move happen. It is taking all of us encouraging one another when we each have our hard days. One of us can pick up the slack for another. All paws on deck doesn’t mean you can’t help each other. In fact, that IS what it means.

I’m sure that as the time draws closer, it feels more and more overwhelming for the persons as they try to decide what to take and what to leave behind. It’s a good time to realize what a blessing the CW provision was. Something you don’t have to worry about. But how will they get necessities up that hill? A helicopter to take in the furniture and appliances? Off grid doesn’t mean total roughing it. Or does BP plan to use hand tools to cut wood, hew, plane, and assemble furniture? Use dowels instead of nuts, bolts, screws, and nails? That would actually be kinda neat, wouldn’t it? A true rustic house complete with rustic furniture. And truly move-in ready when it’s time to return to the States. BUT, seeing all that is needed, both in preparations for the move and in reparations on the house… everything that goes into this next undertaking, just makes me feel tired. And if I had to do it, I would feel overwhelmed. Of course, I’m a lot older than the Persons. My son is older than they are (but not much). watching this adventure to see how it plays out. I see work but I see the end-game, too, and that will be a real feeling of accomplishment,

Brickle and Fruitycake Crystal and I feel the same, she is following me around while I am packing 🙃 she doesn’t like the tape gadget for sure so I do that last when she isn’t in the room. I too have cleaned out stuff and donated alot. My next door neighbor has gotten some she does alot of cooking so I had her come and pick up what she wanted first. In turn she cooked us a spread of a breakfast on sat. It was delicious 9f course she sent us with 2 go boxes enough for Sunday breakfast too. Gonna miss her she & her family were very nice and welcoming. Prayers for her that she gets good people in this rental after we leave. Take a break have a treat and cath your breath
