You Can’t Be Happy All Day Unless You Start In The Morning

This is Deputy Digby Pancake. Did you wake up on the right side of the bed today, or the wrong side of the bed?

Every day, getting out of bed is hard for me. It’s not that I don’t want to start my day. I just prefer to start my day by being slow. And lazy. And stretching. And getting up on my schedule. Which takes a few hours. There’s many good things about bed.

Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle literally jumps out of bed. Lately, he’s also been carrying around a tiger with him.

He rides into the day in a burst of energy.

Many persons can’t seem to get their day started without mud in a cup.

Or checking their phone thing. And it’s rare that I see the persons decide right away that they are going to be happy first thing in the morning. And I thought more about that when I saw the saloon here at the farm.

At saloons, you cant drink all day unless you start in the morning. But saloons aren’t usually open in the morning.

And being happy in the morning is usually not what persons do. Because they think about all that they have to do.

They think about what they don’t want to do. And instead of deciding they will be happy all day, they put it off. Until they think they deserve to be happy…after they have all their tasks done.

Or after they leave work. Or school. After they go to bed. Their happiness is always dependent on something else instead of deciding to be happy.

When a saloon isn’t open, and you really want to go, you may decide to have your salty dog at home. Or play cards at home. Or maybe even go somewhere else.

If you think our happiness is dependent on one thing, you’re wrong. If the saloon isn’t open, find somewhere that is. Because you are wasting today. Don’t look back on your life with regrets.

Only you can decide to be happy. Only you can make adjustments. Only you can find alternatives. You can’t be happy all day unless you start in the morning. Make that moment now. No matter what time in your life it really is.

I’m usually happy when I get up in the morning. I don’t move as fast as I did years ago but that’s ok with me.
