When You’re Ok With The Storm

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. When was the last time you looked at your watch? Do you even have a watch? I would think most persons would use their annoying phone things and not a real watch.

Funny thing is, but it’s not funny, because that’s just a figure of speech…or bark…is that persons think time goes by fast. But it’s just them. They try to go fast to fill the time they complain they don’t have enough of. And honestly? As a Sheriff I am always honest. They don’t have enough time. And they seem to forget the good times when they are caught up in the bad. It’s been like that for us lately too.

We had a very bad storm here the other day. In fact, the persons were supposed to go somewhere and they couldn’t. The wind came. The rain came. The thunder came. And it didn’t last a little while. It lasted all day. A very long while.

During some storms, you wonder if they will ever stop. It doesn’t seem like it. Sometimes you look around and no one else seems too concerned, but you are. Sometimes, it’s scary. Sometimes, you wonder how long it can possibly last. And with my health scare, and then Digby’s, the storms have been coming much more often.

Sometimes, after you think that you can’t take it anymore, the rain gets lighter. But it’s still falling. The thunder stops, but it may scare you again with one big bolt. And you think you just can’t. You can’t remember what the sun even felt like.

And then..it stops. You get brave enough to go outside. You make the first steps. And you might even have someone helping you with your confidence. We are all trying our best. And we are trying to help each other. It’s not easy. But Digby makes it look easy.

How long will our storm last? For a while longer. But I have to say…it’s ok. Because I would rather be in a storm with my family then be in the sun without them.

I imagine every day what it’s going to feel like when things get back to normal. I had a dream and the sun was glorious, I tell you. Glorious. And I couldn’t even remember being scared. I couldn’t remember the rain. Because I didn’t want to. And I didn’t.

So when you wonder how long you can last or how long you have to endure, remember the sun. The sunshiney. It will be there waiting. And the storms of your past will be there. And you don’t need a watch for that.

Thank you all for your love and encouragement! Digby really appreciates it!! His sunshiney never leaves. And it carries us all thru, doesn’t it?

I may have gotten out of the invitation to join the group on Facebook before answering the questions. Would you please send an invitation on Facebook to Meninda Gilroy Holland. Thank you. Looking forward to hearing more about the Sheriff and a Digby and the persons.
