When You Want To Be A Castaway

This is Sheriff Peanut Butter Brickle. Do you ever want to just get away?

Do you sometimes feel as if you are trying to fit in and you don’t? Do you sometimes feel it would just be easier to go live on an island? Well. I do. I’ll tell you that right now.

I don’t like traffic. I wouldn’t like traffic even if it was a line for peanut butter cookies. I don’t have time for that.

I don’t like grocery shopping. No. I don’t like the carts and the people running everywhere to throw more things in their carts. There should be a store that only sells peanut butter cookies and you would save a lot of time.

The world rushing around can get to you. And it’s easy to feel like you are just on for the ride. So yesterday we decided to go to a place called the Castaway Island Preserve.

And I imagined myself being a castaway. It was such a good idea.

I wouldn’t have to deal with traffic out here. Just the alligators and opossums and maybe some birds. But it seemed much safer, actually.

I imagined what I would I eat if I lived out here. And what I would do for fun. And when dinnertime would be. And I realized that if I was a castaway, I could change all that up every day. No one would tell me not to, in fact.

Digby Pancake said he would like to be a castaway too. But as he always is, he was concerned about food and if he would have enough sunshiney. I implored him to not overthink everything. This was an island. Of course there would be sunshiney for us castaways and plenty of time to do some fishing.

We were set. Except for the pancakes, but he is on a diet anyways.

Persons are always so afraid of everything that seems different to them. So they keep rushing around and don’t even know why they are doing it…because it is their routine.

And I have to tell you. Even if something is a routine, it doesn’t mean you are having fun or even accomplishing anything. Going thru the motions may make the time go by. But what are you doing with the time you could have actually living?

Is it time to change it up? Is it time that you became a castaway? Where is your island?

If life has you rushing around and you need to get off the cycle…you have to make the first move.

No one else will do it for you. And if you want to join me and Digby on Castaway Island, I have a few requests.

Bring. The. Cookies. And more cookies. I ran out. Your survival in this world may depend on you. Make it fun. Know where you’re going. And if you have to be a castaway to figure that out, make the journey to your island.
